Be Part of Something

Do you want to be part of something bigger than yourself? Do you want to have an opportunity to learn about your strengths in in-depth ways and apply those strengths to working with others? Do you want to be a resource for other Charlotte students?

Obviously, we’re all in college to go to class. But aside from your coursework, being a resident advisor or resident manager (the Greek Village version of an RA) may be one of the most educational things you can do with your college career. You’ll have a chance to develop relationships with your fellow building staff members and learn valuable lessons about teamwork. You’ll be mentored by a professional staff member and have a young professional there to serve as a resource for beginning your own career. You’ll be able to connect with residents and serve as a resource for them to make the most of their college experience.

It won’t always be easy, but you won’t be in this alone. And the skills you gain in terms of leadership, teamwork, and personnel management are some of the skills employers consistently rank as key for successful job applicants.
